2024年9月、東京・神田にオープン。自身のルーツや生活と創作が密接に結びついたアーティストに焦点を当て紹介します。現代美術、工芸、プロダクト、写真、ファション、音楽など、メディアを問わず、美術の中心と周縁にあるユニークな表現を幅広い観客に向けて発信。また、美術に限らず、同時代のカルチャーや社会を巻き込みながら、今を生きるアーティストとともに出版やイベントなどを行う実験の場として、作品と作家の活動が正しく価値づけされていくことを目指します。

Director Profile｜

林里佐子 Risako Hayashi

1987年、愛知県生まれ。光灯代表。キュレーター、ライター、編集者。

2011年、京都芸術大学（旧・京都造形芸術大学）卒業。卒業後、広告制作会社に勤務し、ファッション広告、アートイベント制作、雑誌編集などに携わる。2016年、株式会社美術出版社に入社。2016年〜2019年まで『美術手帖』編集部に在籍し、「川島小鳥」「100年後の民藝」などの特集を担当。2019年〜2025年、OIL by 美術手帖のギャラリーマネージャー・ディレクターを務め、5年間で80以上の展覧会を企画。200名以上のアーティストとともに展覧会を開催。

2024年9月、ギャラリー光灯を立ち上げる。現在はギャラリー運営のほか、アートライターとしての執筆活動や、外部ギャラリーでのキュレーションなども手がける。

Kohtoh Gallery will open in September 2024 in Kanda, Tokyo. The gallery will focus on presenting artists whose roots and creative processes are deeply interconnected with their personal lives. We will showcase unique expressions across various media—including contemporary art, craft, product design, photography, fashion, and music—highlighting works at both the center and periphery of the art world to a diverse audience.

Additionally, Kohtoh Gallery aims to serve as a platform for experimentation by incorporating contemporary culture and society beyond the realm of art. We will collaborate with current artists on publications, events, and other activities, with the goal of ensuring that their work and contributions are accurately valued and recognized.

Director Profile｜

Risako Hayashi

Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1987. Director of Kohtoh. Curator, writer, and editor.

Graduated from Kyoto University of the Arts (formerly Kyoto University of Art and Design) in 2011. After graduation, worked at an advertising production company, engaging in fashion advertising, art event production, and magazine editing.Joined Bijutsu Shuppan-sha Co., Ltd. in 2016 and worked as an editor at Bijutsu Techo from 2016 to 2019, overseeing features such as "Kotori Kawashima" and "Mingei 100 Years Later."From 2019 to 2025, served as gallery manager and director at OIL by Bijutsu Techo, curating over 80 exhibitions in five years and collaborating with more than 200 artists.

In September 2024, founded Kohtoh Gallery. Currently, in addition to running the gallery, works as an art writer and curator for external galleries.
